Growing up in a very musical family, in Atlanta, Georgia, Rick
began taking piano lessons at the age of seven. However, he
began to shy away from the piano while entering his teenage
years and got more involved in athletics. He still remembers
the exact day, walking into his weekly lesson to tell his teacher
he was done with music. Week after week he rejected every piece
of music she presented to him in preparation for an upcoming
recital. It was in that lesson that his teacher struck a chord
in Rick that would change his life forever. She told him to
write his own song. So, at the age of 14, he did!
Today, writing music is now second nature for Rick. His music,
including his new age/contemporary piano compositions, is featured
across the world on radio, in movies, television documentaries,
national television commercials and the Internet. |
Since
that pivotal piano lesson, he has consistently written, recorded
and performed his songs in various parts of the country. From
2001 - 2003 he toured with a Salt Lake City record label and
performed concerts across the Salt Lake and Utah County's.
Throughout his career he has collaborated with and performed
with many popular singer/songwriters including Maren Ord,
April Meservy, Cherie Call, Kenneth Cope, Michael R. Hicks,
and Peter Brienholt.
He
released his first solo album, entitled IN MY LIFE, in 2001,
which soon found its place in the top rankings on many radio
station play lists including KBYU television and radio and
KZION radio. Rick was soon featured on numerous compilation
albums. In 2003, he was invited to create his first film score
and soundtrack for the motion picture, Day of Defense, a feature
film released October 10th, 2003. He worked with and produced
music featuring popular musicians including Ryan Shuppe, Craig
Miner, Rich Dixon, Kimberly Summers and Justin Utley. Rick
has worked with many top industry names, like Sam Cardon and
Crawford Gates. In addition, Rick has received many awards
and honors for his music. His library of genres, including
such types as contemporary pop, religious, country, R&B,
and new age, continues to expand as he receives more exposure
to music. Rick is currently residing in Orange County, California.
In
2007, Rick was featured in a book about famous American Christians,
featuring profiles of popular athletes, politicians, inventors,
musicians, etc., and was published earlier in February 2007
by Spring Creek Books. The book is sold nationwide in major
bookstores.
"Traveling
and meeting people from all over the world simply fascinates
me. It is through my music that I hope to show my love and
appreciation to all those I've met and continue to meet on
this journey through life. I love music with all of my heart
because it is the most beautiful way to communicate, and with
the wonderful mediums of today it allows me to be with the
ones I love when I physically can't be there." - Rick
Reeve, 2001
